Ces interventions délicates, qui ne sont plus expérimentales, évitent aussi au système de soins de santé des millions de dollars de frais d’hospitalisation, de dialyse et autres. Or, malgré l’appui général de la population, le Canada enregistre un des taux les plus faibles de dons d’organe et de transplantations au monde.
